Readiness for upper secondary education

Regardless of whether you have been assessed as ready or not for upper secondary education, the assessment can be altered.

In form 9 you will again be assessed for your readiness to attend upper secondary education.

If you were assessed as ready for upper secondary education in form 8, this assessment can be altered, in case:

  • your academic level decreases
  • you do not fulfil the requirements for the personal prerequisites, which are stability in school attendance, independence, motivation and readiness for choosing upper secondary education
  • you do not fulfil the requirements for the social prerequisites which are the ability to cooperate, tolerance and respect
  • you do not fulfil the requirements for the practice-based prerequisites
  • you change your wish for upper secondary education

If you have been assessed as not ready for one or several upper secondary education programmes, we will continue to focus on the agreements from form 8 that were made between you, your parents, your teacher and the guidance counsellor at the school.
